Drugstore Mascara Reviews!

In these tough economic times, women (or uhm emo boys?) are having a hard time parting with cash over beauty products. Instead of running to the Department Store or the magical land of Sephora, women (and emo boys) are heading to the drugstore. I have had my fair share of drugstore mascaras and I'm an average consumer.

By the way, I plan to do more beauty related posts! I was going to get a YouTube channel going but I'm working out technical video kinks. Until then, hope this helps!

The scale is:
0 Hearts = FAIL
1 Heart = It doesn't fail but its taking up valuable space!
2 Hearts = Eeeeh
3 Hearts = Average
4 Hearts = Above Average
5 Hearts = AMAZING!

Maybelline Full N' Soft
I am currently using this mascara. Of all the drugstore mascaras I have had, this one feels the most natural and softest. One thing I love is that I get the best lash when I DON'T curl my lashes with this product! It does a pretty good job thickening and lives up to the name. It gives naturally full looking lashes but lacks in lengthening.

Phsycian's Formula's Plump Potion
It claims to stimulate your lashes but seriously? The most it did was coat my lashes. I loved the angle shaped brush but the top of the brush held too much excess product. Also towards the end of the brush it began to clump. I also had an allergic reaction to this hypoallergenic formula! It left much to be desired.

Covergirl's Lash Blast
Honestly, with all the hype I was expecting something big (that's what she said). I felt the wand on steroids was hard to control. It did very little volumizing. Obviously Drew Barrymore wore fake lashes in her Ads because there is no way you could get a 1/4 that amount of volume from this. And it looks like a safety-cone/tampon. Not a fan...

Revlon's Fabulash
Want to look like a spider is coming out of your eyelid? Then this is the product for you! Clumpy hideous lashes came out of this rather nice packaging. Really nothing else to say....horrible.

Maybelline's Great Lash
How many times have you seen this product and "MAKEUP ARTISTS' #1 MASCARA!" Its wet, it doesn't do anything. The only way you can get anything out of it is if you have all day to apply layers upon layers. At least Fabulash gave you a look! A look that represented a spider...but still. This product is so overhyped. Maybe its good to give to a 12 year old girl learning about make-up, it will take her at least a couple hours to look like a whore with this.

I am now the Vice President of my dorm. Well I have been for a week. But I have been thinking that for my first duty I should post a note, much like this one, in the bathrooms and showers in my section:

Dear 1st Floor Girls,

I'm sure that on more than one occasion you have encountered the hairy problem our section has. Someone has been brushing/combing/teasing/ripping out their hair in the bathrooms and showers and leaving it behind for us all to admire.

Personally I have seen huge balls of it in the shower, "hidden" in the corner. As if public showers were not gross enough. A few days later it looked like someone's hair was murdered. Hair follicles covering the entire counter. In the sinks, around the sinks, etc.

It is an unpleasant and unsanitary sight. Not to mention a danger. Like when the bottom of the showers fill up with water and your hair balls come floating towards my feet leaving me panic stricken and needing to decide "Fight or Flight". It can be a hazard.

While I am sorry for whoever is losing their hair, I ask that you please, please, CLEAN UP YOUR FREAKING HAIR!

Best Wishes,
Chelsea

And I'll have a side dish of nasty

I knew college food wasn't going to be good.

But horrible? Ok, I was hoping it wasn't going to be that bad!

First semester, I ate most of it. But now, I'm learning that I will not support their nasty food. Even if it means giving up the delicious over fried fries (which I can thank for some weight gain).

I'll tell you right now what I'll eat here:
  • Either a plain/grilled chicken quesadilla (whole wheat)
  • Salad*
  • Mac & Cheese if I am ever so lucky **
  • Mashed Potatoes (once again, if I am lucky)***

*I'll get a salad as long as the lettuce is green and the chicken isn't in a weird marinade.
** I'll get the M&C if there aren't weird chunks and if it doesn't smell like over processed government cheese (hint, it smells like plastic)
*** If they are not overly seasoned and sans bacon

Every once in a while they'll serve Italian food. Pizza and pastas. The pasta is as hard as rock which has me debating if they even cooked it. And the pizza...I'll let the pizza explain it to you...

1. Does it not look like its been sitting out in a guy's dorm room for days? THIS IS FRESH PIZZA!
2. The cheese is hard and disc shaped and can be used as a frisbee
3. The crust tastes in between a Pita bread and crap.
4. It is a waste of $7

The rest of the hot food specials are just questionable. I could get a sandwich but it is a cross-contamination breeding ground. I have never missed real food so much. I mean come on, this is New York, GET THE PIZZA RIGHT!
I want to redo the site a little and then start blogging more...changes will be coming!

The Best Part of College...

...Is getting boxes! (And food from Popcorn Factory!)

I got my Mom's Valentine's day box today:

Ever since my Dad left us on Valentine's Day, my mom has gotten me a Hallmark Valentine's stuffed animal, this year's! And I have no idea what Cheesy Taco Easy Mac is but I intend to find out tonight for dinner! The fact its already in a bowl means no cleanup!

Sweet Baby J, where was all this when I had my period a week ago? And no, there is not chance it will make it to my next period. So glad I bought milk today.

I didn't realize my keyboard thing was that full. And I also got more disinfecting wipes and dusting things, I'm a neat freak! (Obviously with the exception of that stupid drawer)

Can you see me now? Good!

Why I never used to go anywhere with my dad when I was a child:

In the waiting room of my eye doctor's in a VERY Jewish community:
Dad in a loud whisper: "DON'T LOOK NOW BUT THAT JEWISH BOY IS GIVING YOU THE EYE!"
I quickly turn my head to see a Jewish guy with a huge grin and my Dad laughing hysterically.

Telling my dad that I need new eyeglasses
"
Well, as much fun as it is to see you walk into things...I guess you can get new glasses"

Shopping for glasses
"Try these, they'll make you look like Sarah Palin"
" OH NOW THOSE MAKE YOU LOOK LIKE SARAH PALIN"

Asking his opinion on some frames I'm trying on
"They look good"
"Can you say anything else but good?"
"*Long pause*....Good?"

And when he said I had 10 minutes to look and decide on glasses, he meant it. I think I decided on some nice ones....
