Summer Makeup Routine

I thought I'd share what I do for my summer makeup routine! I was going to take photos but I lost my camera's battery charger!!

Face

Let me say, I hate face makeup in the summer. I can't wear my normal foundation that provides optimal coverage but instead will have to deal with something that won't melt or sweat off. A flawless face is impossible in this hot weather! So I just put on some sunscreen or moisturizer with SPF (depending on the day) and then wait 10 minutes to let it soak in and apply my Covergirl tinted moisturizer. Its coverage is really minimal but its the best I can find in the drugstore. It does a decent job evening out my skin tone. I'll then put on some green concealer on any sunburn or blemishes. The green helps cancel out the redtones of said sunburn or blemishes. I'll then apply the lightest amount of concealer (any more and it will melt and cake!) and set it with a powder. For the green concealer I am liking Physician's Formula Mineral Wear Correcting Concealer in Soft Green. When I have a sunburn I usually won't opt for blush and/or bronzer.

Eyes

So easy! Prime eyes with a concealer. Apply a light color that is similar to my skin tone all over the lid, line my upper lash line with a waterproof eyeliner (and as always, set it with a black shadow!) then apply waterproof mascara! I love Covergirl's eyeshadow in "Champagne" with Revlon's Colorstay eyeliner in "Black" and then Covergirl's Lash Blast Waterproof in "Blackest Black". In the summer I don't really like to fuss with defining my crease.

Lips

Pink gloss. Or a lip balm with SPF. Glossy lips are a big summer must have! I love Revlon's lipgloss in "Pink Whisper"

What do you do differently, if anything, for your summer makeup?

Poor little bloggie!

I am so sorry I haven't been updating lately! I have had family over for the past week and haven't spent much time on the computer. And I am going through a typical college student's "WTF DO I WANT TO BE?!" syndrome.

Its so funny how that through all 4 years of high school (and even some of junior high) I was set on becoming a beat reporter for the Yankees and a sportscaster. But ever since graduation, I changed my mind. I wanted to do something more. Finally I decided I wanted to become an attorney and practice family law. But then in the past week it changed to business law and then I wanted to major in communications and then nursing and then marketing and then back to criminal justice. Ah!

Ever since a girl in one of my classes told me that criminal justice degree would be a waste of money if I didn't want to pursue a career in law enforcement (which I don't) I have been wondering if that is what I want my major to be.

What if I realize that I really really REALLY can't afford law school and I am stuck with a CRJ degree? Then I am screwed! I already changed my major from Journalism to Criminal Justice and now I am thinking it should be communications (because then I can do anything practically!)

Come fall, I will need to speak to an adviser and figure this hot mess out! 85% of me is still leaning towards law but 90% of me has no idea what to do for my BA before I start law school. I have to decide soon because if I do go to law school, I start my senior year!! Which means LSAT classes next year!

But on the bright side, I am in the Honors college! Yay! Which means harder classes to go to this mysterious undergraduate degree!

A COOKIE FOR BREAKFAST?!

Hi, my name is Chelsea and I am a chocoholic! I need some form of it to start off my day. So what is a girl on a diet supposed to do? EAT A FREAKIN COOKIE.

For breakfast I find that a Quaker Breakfast Cookie, loaded with iron, calcium and fiber, and an 8 oz glass of 1% milk fills me up! Its freaking delicious.

BreakfastCookies-ChocChip-Detail

And then for lunch and dinner, I'll have one of my favorite healthiest salads eveeer.

FRUITS, VEGTABLES, CALCIUM, PROTEIN AND DELICIOUSNESS SALAD.

Whats in it?

1. Lettuce, duh. I love the Dole/Store brand lettuce mixes in "Italian"
2. Grapes! I love the juicy explosion (oh gah, I have to...that's what she said!)
3. 1 low fat string cheese diced into little pieces
4. Chicken! I love the Purdue Short Cuts! They're grilled! They're seasoned! They're awesome! And a great price at wholesale stores!
5. One serving (yeah I have to measure this shit out) of Low-Fat Thousand Island Dressing!

Its freaking awesome. And when paired with my soft drink of choice, Coke Zero with Cherry!, its awesomeness goes up.

And then because NEED I chocolate, I love Teddy Grahams! In either chocolate or choco-chip!

And chocolate pudding is awesome too!

Finally, a pic of my dog after our first 2 mile walk!

Good thing I can't read fancy doctor scales...

Freshmen 15 is no myth.

I told myself a year ago that going off to college would be a great time to lose weight! That was until I found myself running to the caf in the late hours of the night to grab some form of caffeine and sugar. A bottle of cherry diet cola and a candy bar would keep me wired long enough to finish making my notecards. And then as I made friends, we'd voyage together to the caf. We would often stay together all ordering from the same greasy grill. I knew I had to lose weight but the temptation!

Now, I find myself a bit heavier and vowing not to let a stupid college cafeteria ruin my body. I also spent less time caring about what I consumed or how much I excersised. I'll admit, the first month I frequented my school's large pool. But as soon as my work load got longer and the pool's hours changed, excersise was not my priority.

I'd spend hours up late into the morning. I'd either be studying or finally being able to have some free time. The next day I'd be too tired to go to the gym. Running around campus and to class was all the excersise I got.

But now, I'm set on getting onto a normal diet.

I'm kicking college staples out of my diet. Pop-tarts is the breakfast of college. Well any meal for that matter. I have now kicked those delicious fatty squares out of my diet. And all that canned ready to cook crap? Ah! Its loaded with so much sodium and saturated fat!

Excersise? I'm trying to make it a daily habit to walk my dog for 2 miles every day (we started today! Not that bad!)

Goal?

Goal?!

I'm emberessed to say this...I never thought I'd get to this point...but my goal is to lose around 100 pounds. YIKES! THATS LIKE MY FREAKIN DOG!

That number was calculated by finding how much a girl my age and height (I am 6 foot..so I do have to weigh a bit more than the average 19 year old) needs to weigh and 100 pounds would put me there.

I'll share with you some of my diet tips and tricks (I have lost weight before!) and probably update this more!

Now, I need to figure out how to deal with my horrible chocolate withdrawal...its been giving me freakin headaches.

DIY Eyeliner!

I feel like such a bad blogger. I'll try to keep up! Sorry!

But today I have a beauty tip! Ever have a favorite eye shadow that you wanted to be an eyeliner but applying said eyeshadow with an eyeliner brush just didn't cut it?

Last night I was playing around with what was in my makeup bag and found out that when you lay a color on top of a white eyeliner that it makes a highly pigmented eyeliner!

So Eyeshadow + White Eyeliner = AWESOME

My white eyeliner of choice is a freakin 99 cent Wet & Wild one! I must say this is pretty awesome!

Here are some examples:

005

Here is the eyeshadow applied with a liner brush, then the white liner and then shadow + liner!

009

Here are 3 other shadows and then then the shadows over the liner!

014

And the colors used. The black is VS' "Fierce", PF in "Baked Sands", L'oreal HIP in "Foxy" and L'Oreal HIP in "Adventurous"

I hope you guys liked it!

WHAT A HOT MESS!!

So I have been consumed with a project these past few days...Project MY ROOM NEEDS TO HIT PUBERTY. I wanted to make it a wee bit more mature and update it. So I'll show y'all pics of before first and then afters!

BEFORE

001

It was a baby blue before, like almost every other teen girl's room.

002

Do you know what my favorite team is?

003

Newspaper photos leave newspaper ink on walls. Take note. AND TAPE IS A BITCH TO TAKE OFF! MY FINGER BED THINGS BEGAN TO BLEED! Foolishness!

004

My "theme" before was beachy, thus the flip flops!

005

All of my furniture was a white wicker and had to make sure whatever I did to my room would match it..

006

Clutter much? And the Sweet 16 balloon...uhm I just turned 19!

AFTER

007

Now my desk is more under control!

021

I got this bedding like two years ago and have been wanting to paint my room to match it since it!

011

My Yanks collection? Its now contained to these shelves and my closet door!

027

My walls are also much more tamed and almost simplistic?

022

This by my bed...my girly shelf haha!

018

Daybed! But its hard as a rock. So space-sucker!

015

AND NO MORE THUMBTACKS HOLDING UP MY CURTAINS!!

010

My vanity!

016

Max, my dog, was tired from humping the paint drop cloth...he likes my new room!

009

How did I deal with all that clutter before?!

024

Birthday goodies (Which was on the 19th!)! A LG Dare, iPod Nano and a Vera Bradley purse!
